Carolyn Martinez is a California-based mixed media artist who has enjoyed creating jewelry ever since she can remember. She is a self taught artisan with a passion for creating jewelry and loves combining colors and textures.
Her bracelets are contrasting textural combinations of materials such as Tibetan silver, crystal rhinestones, turquoise beads and antiqued chains intertwined with vibrant color fibers such as leather and satin cords. She enjoys creating customized pieces of jewelry for the perfect accessory to match any piece of clothing.
Besides jewelry making, Carolyn loves working with a variety of mediums including polymer clay, watercolor and fabric with its never-ending combinations of texture elements and colors.
As a former nutritionist who promoted healthy, colorful eating programs, Carolyn has applied her love of color and creativity in her jewelry designs.
She lives in Santa Monica, California with her husband, Jack.
Thank you Gallery 873 for giving her inner jewelry-making child a chance to share her handcrafted jewelry.
