After twelve years of guitar building in the mountains of the Wasatch Back, Elaine moved to Ivins in search of creative inspiration, music and sun, finding all three in Ivins, Utah. A musician/artist since her early teens, she narrowed her medium to archtop acoustic guitars, basses, and mandolins, but in order to recycle the scraps of the beautiful exotic woods left over she has included in her repertoire cutting boards, cake stands, music stands, and more. Partnered with fellow luthier/artist Mike Moulton, the two created Immortal Guitars and have produced many fine crafted instruments.
A native of Salt Lake City, Mike relocated to Ivins to pursue instrument building full time. Partnering with fellow luthier/artist Elaine Stoddard, they created Immortal Guitars. A business centered around the building of fine crafted musical instruments including guitars, basses, mandolins & other one of a kind instruments. Mike handcrafts Slit Drums and Kalimbas using the exotic woods left from guitar building. Each one is unique, beautiful & very musical. An avid bicyclist, hiker, and skier, he is also a talented musician accomplished in guitar, bass, mandolin, saxophone & drums. The two play regularly with their popular funk band “Soul What!?”
