After spending over 20 years in the Portland, Oregon rain, Jillianne now spends her days enjoying the sun in St George, Utah. A fascination with rich colors and textures led Jillianne to her love of organic fibers. “Working with organic fiber is one of the most ancient forms of human self-expression.” Using primarily wool as her medium, she both ‘paints’ and sculpts her pieces.
Jillianne prefers working on pieces that include animals, enjoying the moment when the animal seems to instantly come to life. “An artist can feel the moment this occurs and the piece becomes something more than the sum of its parts. It’s exhilarating.”
